Bathroom Renovations
help-orphans
One of the biggest needs at the moment is for better bathrooms. Many have not had any work done on them for decades. Leaky taps, rusty cubicle doors (if any), no paint, cracked cement and bad ventilation lead to some very smelly toilets. There are 8 major bathrooms which we plan to eventually renovate. We have had many groups of volunteers help out with this work.

Cost: $6,000

One of the biggest needs at the moment is for better bathrooms. Many have not had any work done on them for decades. Leaky taps, rusty doors (if any), no paint, cracked cement and bad ventilation lead to some very smelly toilets. There are 6 major bathrooms which we plan to eventually renovate.

The worst of all the bathrooms (and the one which we started work on first) was the one in the small boys hostel. The smell from it was just unbearable and as it joined onto the boys bedrooms they too were unbearable!

With new porcelain sinks, toilets and urinals as well as tiled walls and floors it is not only much easier to keep them clean/sanitary but also smells much nicer!

In the list below you can see the bathrooms we intend to renovate, as well as their status (completed/incomplete). We will update this as we go along...

   Small Boys Bathroom #1
   Small Boys Bathroom #2
   Small Girls Bathroom
   Big Girls Bathroom
   Big Boys Bathroom #1
   Big Boys Guestroom
   Nursery Bathroom
  Upstairs Guest House

02/04/2010 Update!
This project has now been completed -though there are several bathrooms in staff accomodations that we hope to one day work on.
